Italian wool and hemp pullover – production details, yarns, fabrics

Sweater made from Tuscan hemp plants and fibers and virgin wool from Apulian sheeps. The hemp fiber was subjected to retting through an anaerobic process. The textured drop stitch is obtained with floating yarns on a 4.2 flat rib base. The experimental knit is slightly open-worked and is warm and rough to touch.

Wool and hemp sweater: finishing details

The V-neck sweater features a deep neckline, highlighted by a 4.2 rib edging. The fit is relaxed at the waist, where there is no elastic fiber . The design features a slightly flared shape. This wool and hemp sweater is a genderless and seasonless garment.

Wool and hemp sweater: the natural color of hemp

The color of hemp after anaerobic retting takes a darker hue, descending from the ochre of straw to the mud of the farm field. This hemp and wool pullover is also available in two color variants: charcoal-based anthracite gray and licorice-pigmented mud green. Being those natural dyes from vegetable pigments, the dyes’ hues are unpredictable and always different.
