CRAFTING DETAILS

a crewneck, long-sleeved, hemp t-shirt with a fancy knitting stitch and a barbed line motif. The double hemmed collar and cuffs are rib stitched, whilst the bottom hem is more simple. Hemp is cool in summer, warm in winter and a naturally stiff fiber that becomes comfortable and soft after a fulling treatment in the washing process.

hemp plant contains high levels of cellulose, which further lends itself to tensile strength and stability. Consequently, hemp fiber is extremely resistant. It has good heat dispersion and absorbs little odor. 

Camilla Calderoli created this unique hemp t-shirt with the experience she gained from knitting. She manufactured this item near Bergamo in her mother’s workshop – the place where she learnt everything she knows about fibers, knitting and yarn. We challenged her to produce a hemp t-shirt that was comfortable, wearable and weighs only 90 grams.

furthermore, the labels inside the hemp t-shirt are both made from cotton. The Prototipo logo is embroidered with cotton thread, while the washing instructions are printed on a cotton label. Kindly note that the rough effect of this label is a stylistic choice.
