CRAFTING DETAILS

the starting point of this wool jumper was the creation of the front and back patterns which were generated simultaneously. Later, the sleeves – composed of the same weave with the addition of  hand made coronation cord – were added.

the coronation cord decoration (hemp core wrapped with wool) takes inspiration from the 1800s and has been reinterpreted here with new materials. The garment also utilizes internal machine stitching, necessary to shape and improve the fit of the garment so that it is oversized for women and well rounded for men.

we have kept only original nuances to enhance the natural color of the italian wool. This jumper took 150 hours of hand-work.

the labels inside the jumper are both made of cotton: the Prototipo logo is embroidered with cotton thread, while the washing instructions are printed on a cotton label. Kindly note that the rough effect of this label is a stylistic choice.
